About Inner Music
|
|
On this site, I eulogize Inner Music. I give examples of my own compositions using this gestation of inward hearing. I also host media discussing the psychology, taxonomy, and theory of imagined music. It is said that "Music comes from outer space, into the mind of the composer, down through his arm, and pen, to the paper, from which it goes into the mind of the performer, through his arms, to his instrument, from where it goes out into space...never stopping..." Freud took notice of Inner Music. A footnote at the beginning of his famous book on dreams retells how the violinist Tartini heard music in a dream and arose to write down the music he heard. From this germ Tartini wrote the Devil's Trill Sonata. Even Aristotle referred to this mentally heard music, though he was annoyed by it. For further study, I present a paper on Inner Music first published in Dreamworks. If you have questions or would like more information about Inner Music, please do not hesitate to contact me. |
